Los Kjarkas is a Bolivian musical group founded in Capinota in 1965 by the Hermosa brothers: Wilson, Castel and Gonzalo (2/10/1950), plus Édgar Villarroel. The name of the group has its origin in the word kharka, from southern Quechua, which means “fear or suspicion”, or also “tremor”.

SpanishEnglish
Era morena y muy bella
estaba loco por ella
atado a su pollera
bajando por la quebrada
por el camino del rio
la esperaba y la seguía.
Subiéndose la pollera
la pícara se bañaba
sus lindos muslos morenos
mi corazón galopaba
sabiendo que la espiaba
me miraba sonriendo
Tan bonita la imilla
tan bandida y coqueta
como fruta madura
lista para k’achirla
She was brunette and very beautiful
I was crazy about her
tied to his skirt
going down the ravine
along the river road
I expected it and followed her
Pulling up her skirt
the picara bathed
her pretty dark thighs
my heart galloped
knowing that she was spying on her
She looked at me smiling
So beautiful the little girl
so bandit and coquette
like a ripe fruit
ready for k’achirla
